Brief introduction and characteristics of well type furnace

Well furnace looks like a well when facing down, so it is called well furnace. The workpiece is vertically loaded into the furnace by the crane for heating. The traveling crane can be used for opening and closing the furnace cover, manual lifting rod or electro-hydraulic lifting. Well type furnace is a periodically operated furnace, which is suitable for the heat treatment of rod and long shaft parts. The structure of well type furnace is: the furnace body is a cylindrical deep well, and the workpiece is vertically loaded into the furnace by a crane for heating. The fuels used are usually gas and fuel. When electricity is a heat source, it is called a well resistance furnace. Well type furnaces are generally placed below, above or half below the ground level of the workshop. Well type furnaces include forced convection well type furnace, natural convection well type furnace, well gas carburizing furnace, etc.

Well type furnace can be heated by gas or liquid fuel or electricity. When using gas fuel, usually several small energy burners will be installed along the tangential direction of the furnace wall, and the height will be evenly arranged in layers or spirals to avoid direct flame scouring the workpiece and ensure uniform temperature in the furnace. When it is used for low temperature tempering or oil as fuel, a thin muffle wall will be built in the furnace to separate the combustion space from the heating space, but the well type furnace with muffle wall consumes a large amount of fuel. Most small well furnaces are electrically heated, and most of them are equipped with special metal muffle cans for gas carburizing, nitriding, carbonitriding, light annealing and other heat treatment. In areas with sufficient power supply or large well type furnaces that need to control furnace temperature, it is more suitable to use electric energy.

Well type furnace features:
